Shilton set out to create the perfect braided fly backing, one that matches the Shilton ethos of great robust quality at a reasonable price. It’s made with 9-strands of extremely thin Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene so that its extremely tough when coming into contact with structure and not too thick so that it creates too much line drag in the water.
It is thinner than Dacron to allow larger backing capacities but not so thin that it’s dangerous to touch when under tension. It has a superior life span because the Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene does not rot. Fly-Braid comes in a great rage of colours to match our reels and in a variety of breaking strains that suite all types of fly fishing. It comes in 30lb, 50lb and 80lb and in 300 and 3000 metre rolls for shops that want to load clients’ reels.
What is the benefit of using Shilton Fly Braid rather than Dacron
Fly-Braid is substantially thinner than Dacron which allows less line drag through the water.
The thinner diameter means that more backing can be loaded onto a reel (larger line capacity)
Fly-Braid has a lower diameter with a higher breaking strain than Dacron
Fly-Braid is more robust when it comes in contact with rocks or coral as it’s made from 9 strands of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene
Fly Braid doesn’t rot like Dacron
Nextcast products are by far the most superior fly lines on the market today.
As you may have notice already, Nextcast products have an unique style/characteristic in casting and fishing. Our goal is to develop products not only to meet the demands of tough fishing conditions, but also to give a bit of extra feel in hand. This feel is the soul of Nextcast.
May you find them, 'Fine and Far Off'.
If you are a person who just wants one set up that both fishes and casts with high performance you should look no further. NextCast Zone is the most popular line in our range in the last years. Here you will have a multi-tip system with a wide range of densities that can be combined with different tips. The Zone lines are really powerful with a lot of weight located in the rear end of the line, meaning it will load the rod in an extreme way. It simply makes all aspects of spey casting very easy.
We offer eight different densities, see below for more information:
SalarFinder40 is a new approach to multidensity design. Unlike traditional design which relies on mass, the funnel taper generates higher line speed to cover greater area with ease. It is an adjustable three-density shooting head for med-large rivers. It offers from a full range of shooting head from full float for top water action in the fall to a fast full sunk head for fast moving current in the early season.
All sinking lines are made with PU coating for improved durability
NextCast have taken the Zone 2D success one step futher. After rigorous testing and development, the Zone singlepieces are ready for market. This is a very easy-to-cast line with lots of power in the back. Most of the work with making these lines have been developing the front of the line. The result is a line that can turn over big, heavy flies and still be very stable.
For those of you who know Zone 2D from before: the weight of the Zone 3D is tip included, and the tip weighs 125 grains. This means that if you’ve used 500 grains on the Zone 2D, you should choose 625 grains on the Zone 3D.
A clear choice for medium-sized rivers.
This is a unique line made for special fishing situations. A very short fly line that works excellent with heavy 15-foot tips in front of up to T18. It turns over the heavy tips and flies without question, and with more grace than you are used to.
It is important when you choose your Core16 line that you reduce the weight a bit from what you might be used to from the Zone lines. The lines pack heavy weight in a short line of 5-6 metres. If you usually use Zone in 600 grains, we recommend you try Core16 in minimum 50 grains lighter.
Core16 makes fishing a sinking line easier than ever before, and it is a fantastic line in tight conditions.

NextCast Nordic succeeds NextCast SalarFinder, which made a revoloution in shooting heads when they entered the scene.
The new Nordic lines come in 2 options:
- A 2D line to combine with a Nextcast tip in 10 or 12 feet
- A 3D line where all you have to do is attach a leader.
In the process of making the Nordic lines we had two criteria: To make a line that will be the most stable line we've ever made, and to have enough weight in the back taper so you will easily feel the NextCast magic.
The line just explodes through the air with ease and presents your fly with a gentle touch on the water.
The most delicate line from NextCast.
SalarFinder 45 is an untraditional, long scandi head which is very well received by many Scandinavian fishermen. Funnel taper design enhances deeper rod loading and quicker recovery to generate higher line speed for distance delivery. This is a line for long casts and big rivers. For the experienced angler wanting those extra meters of perfect presentation, the SalarFinder 45 is an excellent fit.
SalarFinder45 comes with two densities in the head, and a 10' tip is needed in front to complete the line (not included)

A lighter weight of line to the integrated 2D Zone lines. Ideal for single handed rods or lighter switch rods. These are simply beautiful to cast, offering finesse with a very stable turnover and highly accurate.
Simply “awesome”
NextCast Air Shooting Line is a shooting line with 6 internal air tunnels, making it stay far up in the water. The line is round, has exceptional capabilities with regards to twisting of the line, and it is easy to stretch. The line is relatively stiff, making it perform very well when moist.
The shooting line comes in two different sizes, 38lb and 55lb. The spools contain 90 metres of shooting line, enough shooting line for three reels.
Our recommendation is to choose 38lb shooting line for single handed rods and double handed rods up to class 8/9. For heavier double handed rods, we recommend our 55lb shooting line.
